WORST bedside mannor!!!!! My grandfather is currently there and has been for the last 2 weeks. The nurses do NOT fill you in on any information . You ask a question and the answer is " I don't know". How for the past 2 weeks have the nurses told myself and my family members they do not know why my grandfathers food has been changed. Or why he was moved to 2 different rooms. I do not recommend this hospital to anyone.
What hospital doesn't have enough beds for their patients?! Staff treats patients like a herd of chickens and how they expect my mother to recover from her surgery without a room to rest is beyond atrocious!!
Edit: we waited 12+ hrs after surgery for a recovery room. I'm taking back my stars
MY WORST EXPERIENCE AT UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL... I WILL NEVER COME TO THIS HORRIBLE HOSPITAL AGAIN... THE NURSES WAS VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL .. MY CHILD WAS ADMITTED INTO THE HOSPITAL ON 10/14/17. I WAS IN THE F BLUE SECTION... 3-11 STAFF WAS HORRIBLE... TWO CNA STAFF MEMBERS WAS LOUD AND ARGUING ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF PATIENTS... ONE STAFF NAME LYNDA ARNOLD WAS THE WORST AND VERY RUDE TALKING TO ME LIKE I WAS NOBODY.
Would give one star for the hospital's poor hospitality but doctors delivered the surgery successfully and for that I am grateful.
I came here to support my cousin during her childbirth and was initially deterred by the attending nurse. R.N. E. Barry not only asked who I was but where have I been because the babys father had been there before me. She showed obvious favoritism towards him and even asked if i was jealous that she offered him lunch and not me. She did not want me to be in the birthing room with my cousin, I then realized it was because they (nurse and baby's father) were of the same nationality. That is no way to treat someone who has been supportive and nurturing from the beginning compared to someone who just stepped into the picture for a minute. With all the nursing training she had I guess they didn't teach her class!
THE STAFF AND MAINTENANCE DIDN'T COME TO KEEP THE ROOM MY CHILD WAS STAYING IN... NO FOOD WAS PROVIDED FOR MY CHILD.. I HAD TO BRING MY OWN FOOD FROM HOME. NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!!
From the very minute I walked in, EVERYONE was professional, courteous and so very kind.
My 91 year old mother fell and shattered her hip. Wasn't clear where to bring her and the EMT's all suggested University Hospital in Newark. I was a bit reluctant but I took their word. I couldn't have been more pleased I did.
The entire staff took special care of mom until she was transported to a rehab facility. I won't name everyone but let's just say that I was blown away with their bedside manner and their compassionate tone. I would recommend them to everyone. Thanks to your staff, they were perfect!
